JUMPING BRANCH W.Va. (Hinton News) – In the early hours of March 16, emergency responders were called to the Dollar General in Jumping Branch on reports of theft and a fire. According to a public statement by Chief Deputy Adkins, an individual has been arrested in relation to the incident.

The statement notes “On Sunday, March 16, 2025, at approximately 4:30 a.m., Sheriff J.L. Faris received a call to respond to the Dollar General in Nimitz regarding a possible arson. After the fire was extinguished, it was quickly determined that a breaking and entering had occurred. During the investigation, video surveillance footage was reviewed, and suspects were identified.

“On Monday, March 17, 2025, Sheriff J.L. Faris obtained an arrest warrant for Isaac G. Brown, a 20-year-old from Jumping Branch, for second-degree arson, breaking and entering, felony destruction of property, and petit larceny. Members of the Summers County Sheriff’s Office and West Virginia Parole located and arrested Mr. Brown. He is currently being held in Southern Regional Jail.

“We are pleased to be able to provide answers in this case and give the community of Summers County a positive resolution.”
