My buddy, Corey Markley from Huttonsville, collects WV pieces from all around the state. His collection makes my local town memorabilia collection look tiny. He recently decided to focus his collection on items from Randolph, Pocahontas, and Barbour Counties and has been parting with a little of his eminence archives.
Of local interest are pieces he has decided to sell from Hinton and Alderson. I already had a few bottles from Hinton in my collection. Such as the Rose Pharmacy bottle I wrote about last year. He sold a rare one I had never seen or even heard of the business before.
So, this week’s piece is going to be a tad lackluster.
The photos you see are the bottle referenced from “J. A. McCorkle Druggist Hinton, W. Va.” It is a highly unusual bottle. I am sorry I missed adding it to my collection.
