The Veterans Memorial Museum of SWV Basket Raffle Fundraiser is going on now. Proceeds support expenses for the museum. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5, and every donation they receive will be featured on their Facebook page as they continue to add more prizes. The Veterans Memorial Museum of Southern West Virginia, located in Hinton, in the historic 1912 Carnegie Library, serves as a military history museum.
The Veterans Museum is the state’s first museum dedicated entirely to honoring West Virginia’s military veterans. Its exhibits showcase collections of weapons, uniforms, personal stories, and artifacts from multiple eras. Visitors connect with the soldiers and their journeys when they served.
Stop by and grab your raffle ticket. The museum hours are Saturdays from 11am-3pm.
Admission is free; donations are appreciated.
If you would like a group tour, call ahead to arrange. Help preserve the stories of our great nation’s veterans. Your generosity will help the museum continue its mission. I spoke with Tim Wheeler, the president of the museum, who said the drawing will be held on July 4. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for the announcement of the winner!
The museum is located on 419 Ballengee St. in Hinton, WV
