Deon Butler returned to campus yesterday for a mentoring session with Summers County 5th grade, middle, and high school students.
“Seeing students light up with confidence because they feel comfortable and supported in the way they learn is truly amazing. Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and shine,” Butler posted on his personal Facebook page.
Butler attended Central Michigan University and played college football before signing with the NFL’s Detroit Lions. Butler specializes in encouraging young people to read as he struggled during his younger days due to his undiagnosed dyslexia.
“Thank you, Summers County, with love and gratitude,” he said thankfully.
