HINTON, W.Va. (Hinton News) – A Summers County woman has been arrested following an incident involving a trespassing complaint and reports of gunfire.

Police responded to an incident in which Tracie Helen Trent was allegedly involved in a heated argument with the victim. According to the criminal complaint, the victim had permission from Trent to retrieve his belongings from her property. The victim claimed that during the argument, Trent went into her house and returned with a shotgun. As he attempted to leave, Trent allegedly yelled, “Bring it on,” before discharging the weapon in his direction.

The criminal complaint indicates that Trent reloaded the firearm and warned the victim, “You got about 10 seconds before I pull the [expletive] trigger again.” According to the criminal complaint, a witness provided police with video evidence of the incident.

Trent was arrested and processed at the Hinton Detachment of the West Virginia State Police barracks before being transferred to Southern Regional Jail. The investigation remains ongoing.

At the time of writing, Trent is not listed as an inmate at Southern Regional Jail.
