TALCOTT W.Va. (Hinton News) – The communities of Talcott, Hilldale and surrounding areas have come to look forward to a tradition started by Talcott Fire Department Chief Bill Costomiris as a way for people to have something to enjoy during the COVID period of 2020 that included being quarantined. Now, it’s become a beloved community tradition.
Fire departments throughout the county and multiple private vehicles participated in this year’s parade. Santa and the Grinch also made an appearance.
Chief Costomiris said he couldn’t adequately express how happy he and all the members of Talcott Fire Department are at the turnout of this year’s parade. He calls this year’s event a huge success. Costomiris went on to thank all the fire departments and private vehicles that participated, along with Dean Adkins for the music and Mike Cales for all his help. Additionally, Cosomiris also told Hinton News he greatly appreciated everyone who attended the parade and went to John Henry Park afterward for hot chocolate and cookies because the annual event would not be possible without all the support.
Costomiris also announced the date for next year’s parade as Dec. 21, 2024, at 6 p.m.
The community looks forward to seeing what next year has in store for this heartfelt family event.
