HINTON (Hinton News) – In a world where fashion trends come and go, one thing remains constant – the timeless beauty of jewelry. Whether it’s a family heirloom or a cherished gift, jewelry holds sentimental value that transcends time. However, even the most precious pieces can lose their luster or break over the years. That’s where Sheldon LeMay’s newly opened jewelry repair shop comes to the rescue. With his expert craftsmanship and dedication to restoring the brilliance of every piece, this shop is set to become a haven for jewelry enthusiasts in the area.

This shop is owned and operated by Sheldon LeMay and his wife. LeMay’s connection to jewelry repair began in the early 90s. A friend owned a shop, and a series of events led him to the profession.

The LeMays are originally from North Carolina but moved to the area to be closer to family. He noted that visiting family in other areas often brought them through West Virginia. In an attempt to find a middle ground between the various branches, they landed in Summers County. LeMay said he is excited about opening a business in Hinton and that his wife is the one who initially had the idea.

At Sheldon LeMay Jewelry Repair, customers can expect a wide range of services to cater to their jewelry repair needs. From simple repairs like resizing rings and fixing broken clasps to more intricate tasks such as stone replacement and restringing pearls. He understands the sentimental value attached to each piece and treats every item with the utmost care and attention. Additionally, he noted that while he can replace batteries and bands, he does not work on the mechanics of watches. Whatever your jewelry needs, LeMay is set to help.

The shop held a grand opening and ribbon-cutting on Thursday, June 22. A small group, including one of the LeMay’s daughters, was in attendance. After a prayer, the pair cut the ribbon, officially opening the shop for business. Shortly after the ribbon-cutting, the LeMays had their first customer.

Located in the heart of the city, this business aims to make jewelry repair convenient and accessible. The shop is open Wednesday and Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Thursday and Friday from 5 until 8 p.m. After-hours appointments are available upon request. Customers can rest assured that their precious jewelry is handled with care at all times.

Stop by during open hours to say hi and get a consultation on your jewelry repair. The shop is located directly beside Lucky Rivers Cafe on 2nd Ave. Customers can also view some of the LeMay’s daughter’s beautiful photographs on the wall after walking through the door.
