River floats have become increasingly popular in recent history. The excitement began with the Color the River Float, which is an annual event. Next, the West Virginia Water Festival Float kept the enjoyment going. Now, a third Summer 2021 float trip is taking place on Aug. 21.
This event is the WaterDawg Sunset Kayak Float. The trip begins at 6 p.m. at WaterDawg Outdoors. The float trip will end at Berry’s Campground around 8 p.m. After arriving at Berry’s Campground, food, beverages and entertainment will be provided until 11 p.m.
The cost to participate in this float trip is $20 per person. Participants may bring their own kayak or rent one from WaterDawg Outdoors. WaterDawg announced on its Facebook page that while it is $20 per person if you bring your own watercraft, “If you rent from us it is just the standard rental fee.” It is important to note that while the previous floats allowed all different types of floatation devices, this event is specifically for kayaks.
Both WaterDawg and Berry’s Campground have active Facebook pages where they post updates and information on the event.
