LEWISBURG, W.Va (The Hinton News) – Senator Jim Justice, alongside First Lady Cathy Justice and Babydog, visited Lewisburg Elementary School to kick off his “WV Kids Color DC,” a statewide initiative celebrating the creativity and talent of West Virginia’s elementary school students.

During a special assembly with students in pre-K through second grade, Senator Justice announced the initiative. Students at Lewisburg Elementary were the first to participate, presenting Senator Justice with their Babydog creations. Senator Justice will take the artwork back to Washington, DC, where it will be proudly displayed and showcased in his Senate office.

“There’s nothing in the world like our West Virginia kids, and being right here in my hometown of Lewisburg makes today even more special. Cathy, Babydog, and I have had an absolute ball kicking off this wonderful initiative with these incredible students. I’ve always said West Virginia has the very best people, and that starts with our kids. I’m so proud to take their artwork back to Washington, D.C. and hang it right outside my Senate office for folks from all over the country to see. I want to thank Mrs. Bennett, all the teachers, and these amazing students for putting so much love into their pictures and making this a day we won’t soon forget,” said Senator Jim Justice.
