The return to full-time in-person classes has arrived, and with so many concerns from parents, teachers and students about potential risks of in-person learning Summers County schools have responded with a new option for students and teachers struggling with virtual learning. As the pandemic lingers and cases rise, this new option has been added to the previous three options families can choose from.
Option one is attending all classes in person.
Options two and three are virtual learning options, but, with one primary exception. Option two has students receiving online classes and instruction with teachers within Summers County. Option three allows students to receive virtual instruction from teachers outside of the county.
Both of these options allow students to work at any time of the day as long as assignments are turned in on time.
With the new, fourth option classes will be streamed live to remote students and, hopefully, addresses helping students return to some normalcy and routine. This absence of normalcy and routine has created problems for students, teachers and parents.
Questions or concerns can be directed to the Summers County Board of Education by calling 304-466-6000. Families can also speak directly to students’ teachers to initiate the appropriate chain of command.
