PIPESTEM, W.Va. (Hinton News) – Pipestem Adventures is thrilled to announce the 2024 season opening of its Pipestem Peaks Zipline Tours on May 20th. Located in the picturesque Pipestem State Park, Pipestem Peaks Zipline Tours promises to deliver an exhilarating and unforgettable outdoor experience for adventurers aged 10 and up.

Opening day, and every day during the summer, is an opportunity for adventure, excitement and fun activities for the whole family. Guests will have the opportunity to soar through the treetops on our state-of-the-art zipline course, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding natural beauty. The zipline is open to adventurers aged 10+ who weigh between 100 and 250 pounds.

The zipline tour begins at the top of the Canyon Rim Center and works its way down to the bottom of Bluestone Gorge as you zip from one treetop platform to the next. The zipline trip lasts about 3.5 hours and consists of 9 different zip lines exceeding 1,600 feet in length that cross over the Bluestone River Gorge three times at heights of 300 feet and speed up to 50 mph. Two professional guides accompany a group of eight guests and follow the highest safety standards in the industry. The guides share their enthusiasm and knowledge for ziplining, the history of Pipestem State Park and information on the flora and fauna in the area. 

“We are excited to open the 2024 season of Pipestem Peaks Zipline Tours and provide a unique opportunity for visitors to connect with nature while experiencing the thrill of ziplining,” said Paul Buechler, Founder, and CEO of Pipestem Adventures. “Our team has worked tirelessly to create a safe, enjoyable and memorable experience that highlights the beauty of the State Park.”

Visitors in early to mid-summer will witness the construction of the new, state-of-the-art aerial tramway system at Pipestem which is part of a multi-million-dollar investment in infrastructure and improvements at Pipestem funded by the State of WV. This includes upgrades to the lodge, spa and other amenities at Pipestem.

Another source of fun that should not be missed while at the State Park is the Pipestem Adventure Zone. The Adventure Zone offers more fun in one place than you can experience in a single day. Visitors can choose from 9 exciting activities to create a full-day adventure extravaganza with skeet shooting, laser tag, remote-controlled cars on paved and off-road race tracks, 3D archery, axe throwing, miniature golf, disc golf, electric motor-assisted bikes and pedal bikes. The Adventure Zone and the popular Adventure Lake and Splash Park at Pipestem will also open on May 20th.
