HINTON- A Princeton woman faces several charges after Summers County deputies say they located her vehicle following a reported hit-and-run and tried to stop her in Hinton.

The sheriff’s office said the incident occurred Friday, Oct. 16. Sgt. Cochran and Deputy Starcher found the vehicle traveling in Hinton and attempted a traffic stop. The driver allegedly refused to pull over and continued down a one-way street in an effort to evade deputies. Cochran stopped the vehicle on 8th Avenue, according to the sheriff’s office.

The driver was identified as Katelyn Neal of Princeton. She was taken into custody and charged with driving while her license was suspended, fleeing with reckless indifference, leaving the scene of an accident, traveling the wrong way on a one-way street and operating a vehicle without registration.

A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
