Princeton, W.Va. (The Hinton News) – WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital (PCH) announces Behavioral Health Center (BHC) nurse Julie Prinzbach, RN, as the latest recipient of the prestigious DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses, an international program that honors the compassionate and skillful care nurses provide every day.
Prinzbach was nominated by a colleague who highlighted her commitment to going above and beyond for patients. In the nomination, the coworker described how several inpatients at the BHC needed haircuts. Prinzbach coordinated with a local hairdresser to arrange on-site services for patients.
“It was pure compassion, thoughtful planning, and a deep understanding of what dignity and comfort mean in inpatient care,” the coworker said.
Prinzbach’s actions reflect the importance of preserving dignity and comfort for patients and exemplify the level of care recognized by the DAISY Award.
The DAISY Award is part of a global program honoring nurses who go above and beyond to provide extraordinary care to patients and their families. Nominations can be submitted by patients, families and colleagues at bit.ly/PCHEmployeeAwards.
Prinzbach joins a prestigious community of DAISY honorees worldwide and becomes eligible for a variety of professional development and wellness benefits through the DAISY Foundation.
