HINTON W.Va. (Hinton News) – On April 12, from 1 to 3 p.m., Region 3 of WV Writers will be hosting a free “how to write a memoir” workshop. Do you have a story from your life to tell? What part of your life has been different than other people? What event happened that made a change in your life? What person had an impact on your life? If you’ve had a pivotal moment in your life or if you want to capture some bit of your past, this workshop may be for you.
In this workshop, participants discuss the differences between a memoir and an autobiography. The workshop will cover how to get started, how to hook your reader, and how to write a true story rather than fiction and still keep it interesting. You are welcome to ask questions throughout the session, but we will also plan a Q&A time at the end of the workshop so we can discuss individual, personal projects.
Contact Cheryl Kula at Cheryl.kula@gmail.com to register for this event. Those who wish to attend virtually will receive a link. For those with less than stellar internet, you are welcome to join Cheryl at the Parmer Center (104 James Street, Hinton, WV) in the conference room.
