SUMMERS COUNTY W.Va. (Hinton News) – Are you an experienced writer, or just starting to doodle stories? Do you find yourself wanting to write but putting it off? Would you like to join a local writer’s group to help motivate your writing creativity? The Summers County Writers Group meets every two weeks in person and is inviting other local writers and writer-wannabes to join us.
They offer writing prompts, a deadline for submission, and then a round of kind, yet fiercely specific writing critiques, to help each writer grow and improve. If you are working on a writing project, you can also skip the writing prompts and submit sections of your project for critiques. Their focus is typically on writing fiction and memoir pieces, although we do foray into poetry. They are a group of adults, and while we are not encouraging anything gratuitous, members should expect the occasional bit of colorful language or description. In general, they leave politics and discussions of the world at the door – we are focused on writing!
If you are interested in participating or just want to try one visit, please contact Cheryl Kula (Cheryl.kula@gmail.com) to get the next meeting schedule and location. We look forward to some fresh eyes and new creativity.
