TALCOTT W.Va. (Hinton News) – The 2024 Talcott Fire Department Christmas Parade of Lights is a community staple during the holiday season. Fire trucks from departments across the county in addition to person vehicles deck out in Christmas lights and head through Talcott, Hilldale, Pence Springs and part of Forest Hill so ring cheer to the community. This year, TFD added something new, parade awards. Chief Costomiris handed out three awards at the gathering at John Henry Park after the parade. The first was The Grinch Award which was for the parade entry that gave the least effort for the event. That award went to the Summers County Sheriff who was unable to attend. The next award was the Santa Award for the best decorated truck, which TFD trucks were ineligible for. It went to Forest Hill Fire Department. The last award was for the best private vehicle and that one went to Larry and Delores Moorman.
