SUMMERS COUNTY, W.Va. (Hinton News) — Visit Southern West Virginia is thrilled to announce the return of New River Gateway CVB as funding partners, marking a new chapter in regional tourism collaboration. New River Gateway CVB joins the City of Beckley, Raleigh County, New River Gorge CVB (Fayette County, Ansted, Oak Hill) Visit Fayetteville CVB, the City of Hinton, Nicholas County, Wyoming County and Monroe County to promote Southern West Virginia as a tourism destination. By rejoining this dynamic partnership, both organizations aim to leverage their combined resources to strengthen marketing campaigns and extend the reach of their promotional efforts.

As part of this renewed partnership, businesses in Summers County offering lodging options will gain access to full membership benefits with Visit Southern West Virginia, including:

Listing on VisitWV.com — The state’s premier tourism website, providing increased exposure to potential visitors.

Promotion on Social Media — Featuring local businesses across Visit Southern West Virginia’s highly engaged social media channels, reaching thousands of outdoor enthusiasts, history lovers, and adventure seekers.

Inclusion in the Official Visitor’s Guide — More than 100,000 copies of this comprehensive resource are distributed annually, connecting travelers with the best accommodations, attractions, and dining in the region.

Visit Southern West Virginia and New River Gateway will be celebrating this renewed partnership with an open house on Tuesday, Dec. 17 at the McCreery Conference Center from 3-6 p.m. All tourism-related businesses in Summers County are welcome to join. 

By combining efforts, New River Gateway CVB and Visit Southern West Virginia will maximize the impact of their advertising dollars, creating more cost-effective campaigns that benefit the entire region. Together, they will highlight the unique attractions and experiences that make Summers County a must-visit destination in Southern West Virginia, from its scenic outdoor adventures to its rich cultural heritage.
