Concord University Nursing Program Receives National Accreditation

ATHENS, W.Va. (Hinton News) – The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) Board of Commissioners has  granted national accreditation status to the Concord University Nursing Program. At its meeting the Board determined that the program meets all four accreditation standards, and that there are no concerns in regard to compliance with respect to key elements. The accreditation action is effective as of January 31, 2024, and was granted by the Board using CCNE Standards for Accreditation of Baccalaureate and Graduate Nursing Programs (2018).

This accreditation status allows students who graduate from Concord University with a BSN to continue their studies at any graduate program in the United States. This also means that Concord University’s nursing program is one that provides graduates with rigorous benchmarks recognized throughout the United States that meet and/or exceed standards in nursing education.

Dr. Kendra Boggess, President of Concord University, celebrates the achievement saying, “I want to extend my deepest congratulations to our incredible nursing faculty and team members for their outstanding work in developing Concord University’s inaugural nursing program, which has just received its accreditation.
