HINTON, W.Va. — Several home improvement projects have recently been completed for eligible homeowners in Hinton, made possible through matching funds from The Center for Rural Health Development Inc. The initiative is part of the Wild, Wonderful and Healthy West Virginia program.
Council Members Jim Leslie and Janima Bond, along with private citizen Patti Crawford, were key figures in the efforts. Contractor Nick Willey and his team completed the work for all six projects completed as of the summer of 2024.
Mayor Scott is on record as saying, “Council President Jim Leslie, Councilwoman Janima Bond and private citizen Patti Crawford have been instrumental in this community effort to upgrade and improve health and safety standards for citizens who are eligible. Their work is a tribute ti Shalom Tazewell.” Sadly, Tazwell passed away earlier this year on July 20. Mayor Scott said of Tazewell, “[She] devoted mush of her time and effort in pursuing this project.”
Homeowners interested in future projects can find eligibility information and applications at City Hall.
