HINTON W.Va. (Hinton News) – Summers County students participating in the dedication of Inspiration Gallery on Saturday, April 13 at Summers County Comprehensive High School are the following:  Stephanie Williams, Logan Osborne, Ava Stover, Lawson Jones, and Avery Lilly.  These students will present the five people to be inducted into Inspiration Gallery.

Conceived by Cotty Farley who presented the idea to the Summers County Historical Society, goal of the project is to inspire students to achieve at their highest level and make a mark on history as exemplified by the people being honored with inclusion into the Gallery.  The first criteria for inclusion is that the honoree must have attended school in Summers County.  In a letter to students from Gene Fife, head of Goldman Sachs in London, a graduate of Hinton High School, and one of the inductees, he writes:  “Don’t ever apologize for being from West Virginia or a small town.  It is your greatest strength.”  Sylvia Mathews Burwell, former US Cabinet Secretary for Health and Human Services, also a graduate of Hinton High School echoed those sentiments in her letter to the students.  She wrote, “Being from Hinton is my superpower.”

The dedication ceremony will begin at 2:00 in the afternoon and is open to the public.  Everyone is invited to attend.
