ALDERSON W.Va. (Hinton News) – The newest addition to Alderson is Tasty Bites and Small Delights, a lovely cafe serving up breakfast like Grandma made and delicious lunches to satisfy any hunger. Jessica and Kenneth Marvin, the new owners, are working nonstop to bring you a taste of home.
With a focus on starting your day right, Jessica Marvin offers you a delicious breakfast such as made-to-order omelets, fresh cinnamon rolls, breakfast platters with all the fixins, french toast, pancakes and, of course, coffee. For lunch, you may find a homemade potato salad and pulled BBQ croissant, a BLT or chicken salad on her freshly baked slices of bread. Pepperoni rolls are also made daily, as well as pies, salads and cakes.
Although Jessica Marvin is only 27, she has worked as a chef for businesses in Hinton to The Greenbrier Sporting Club. Her passion for baking has brought her here to you, opening the doors for you to experience the love of her grandmother. Teaching, learning and excelling in the kitchen, her heart is in her food.
To carry on the Appalachian way of when you stop by, you’re going to be fed, and it was always delicious. Some say that cooking is their love language. We can agree that when food is made with love, it somehow tastes better. Carrying the torch, Jessica Marvin hopes to satisfy the hungry morning workers and early birds and to delight the passersby. Need a bunch of brownies, a lemon meringue pie or zucchini bread for a gathering? Give them a shout.
Tasty Bites and Small Delights will be at The Strawberry Festival in Alderson on May 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Sunset Berry Farm, 791 Sunset School Road, Alderson. This is a fantastic day to try her strawberry and feta salad, strawberry shortcake and homemade jams.
