LEWISBURG, W.Va. (Hinton News) – Carnegie Hall has released its calendar of events for May and June.
SPRING 2023 CLASSES & WORKSHOPS: Carnegie Hall offers learning opportunities continuing through May. Classes and workshops include woodturning, hand crafting tea pots and mugs, sausage making, salt-rising bread making, soap making, making Appalachian medicinals, guided ceramic projects for all ages, painting, drawing, printmaking, basket weaving, fiber arts, craft jewelry and leather craft. FRIDAY, MAY 19: MAINSTAGE LOUNGE – Buckwheat Zydeco Jr. Mainstage Lounge preshow reception in the Board Room from 6:30-7:15 p.m., Friday, May 19. Free admission. Cash bar and snacks available.
FRIDAY, MAY 19: BUCKWHEAT ZYDECO JR. – 7:30 p.m. featuring Buckwheat Zydeco Jr. and the legendary Ils Sont Partis Band. The Legendary Ils Sont Partis Band featuring Sir Reginald Masters Dural aka Buckwheat Jr., the son of the late great Zydeco legend Stanley “Buckwheat” Dural Jr.
FRIDAY, MAY 26: SANDOR KATZ – Appalachian Heritage Lecture Series presents Fermentation from Appalachia and Around the World at 7:30 p.m. in the Hamilton Auditorium. Katz is a fermentation revivalist, author of five books and recipient of a James Beard award and other honors.
FRIDAY, JUNE 2: SECOND STAGE LOUNGE – Bare Bones preshow reception in the Old Stone Room at 6:30 p.m. Free admission. Cash bar available.
FRIDAY, JUNE 2: BARE BONES – 7:30 p.m. in the Old Stone Room.
THURSDAY, JUNE 8: BLUE TWISTED STEEL – Ivy Terrace Concert Series kicks off oat 6:30 p.m. Ivy Terrace Concerts take place outside in front of Carnegie Hall and are free to the public. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket and pack a picnic. Concerts are over at 8 p.m.
