A look at Summers County 4-H Camp 2022

SUMMERS COUNTY, (Hinton News) – Registration for Summers County 4-H Camp is now open and will close on May 16, 2023. The theme is “4-H for All Seasons” and the dates are June 12-16, 2023. Camp gates will open Monday, June 12, at 8:00 a.m. Camp cost is $170 and $130 for campers who meet income guidelines for free and reduced lunch.

To register for camp, please go to 4h.zsuite.org

For someone already enrolled as a member for the 2022-2023 4-H year, please log in, go to events, search Summers County, and register for the event.

For those previously enrolled as a member but not for the current year, log in and enroll for the 2022-2023 year. After the enrollment is approved, members can register for camp.

For those who have never been enrolled, a ZSuite account must be created.

These are the basic steps:
– Create a household account and add household members (these are 4-H members).
– Membership is approved
– Register for events.

As always, everything is first come first served. For those campers who attended the full week in 2022, a full return scholarship is available this year. Camp is sure to be a great week and we hope many Summers County youth can join us! For more information, please contact Lesley Woodrum at Lesley.Woodrum@mail.wvu.edu.

Summers County Humane Society/ACWP volunteer Martha Braswell receives a grant from the Hinton Area Foundation’s Greg Vandall (left) for $1500 to support K900 field trips to take a van full of dogs to a local park, on a designated day, in the hopes of drawing out new volunteers to come and meet the dogs and give them some exercise. Christina Cochran (right) explained, “It’s hoped these field trips will result in some new volunteers for the humane society, some happy pups, and more community awareness of what we do. The funding will offset the cost of gas to get the dogs back and forth, as well as lunch and other supplies for the volunteers.  There will be future details on this program and when the first dog walks will be."
