HINTON, (Hinton News) – The Ritz Theater is teaming up with Marshall University’s Autism Training Center to provide a sensory-friendly showing of The Super Mario Bros movie. Everyone is invited to attend the event on Sunday, April 16, at 2 p.m. The cost of a matinee ticket is $4.

Sheila Allman, Director of MountainPlex Properties, says: “The Ritz has some exciting news for the autism community! We’re having a sensory friendly showing of The Super Mario Brothers Movie.”

The sensory-friendly screening will feature increased lighting in the theater. Additionally, the movie’s sound will be lower than usual showings.

Established in 1984, the West Virginia Autism Training Center supports individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and those in their lives. According to the official website, the project first envisioned in the 1980s, was spearheaded by Dr. Ruth C. Sullivan.
