HINTON, (Hinton News) – A benefit for the Summers County Council on Aging, Singing for Seniors, is scheduled for April 22 at 6 p.m. in the Summers County Memorial Building. Two acts, George Whittaker and New Horizon, will perform during the event.

The senior center recently endured a funding cut, and event organizer, Laura Lilly hopes to help the organization recoup some of the lost funds. Anyone who wishes to make a tax-deductible donation can do so by contacting Lilly at 681-238-3045. Additionally, donations will be accepted at the door during the event. Raffle tickets will be sold and concessions will be available. All proceeds go to the Summers County Council on Aging.

According to Lilly, the senior center has served the community for more than 40 years. The organization provides a multitude of services including meals, activities, transportation, outings and in-home care.

  1. For more information on the event, contact Lilly at the above number. To get involved with Summers County Council on Aging, call 304–466-4019.
