The Summers County Health Department recently announced that they received official confirmation of an additional COVID-19 related death. This marks the 40th such death in the county.
No additional information regarding the individual is being released at this time.
According to a further report from the health department, Summers County currently has 95 active cases and six related hospitalizations as of Tuesday, Jan. 4. The report further, states “Information is changing daily, and we are providing the most important updates as we get them.”
The health department continues to provide COVID-19 vaccines and boosters, as well as, flu vaccines. To schedule a vaccination, call 304-466-3388. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. They are closed between noon and 1 p.m. for lunch.
