2nd Saturdays To Host 'End Of The Season' Concert September 11

2nd Saturdays will end this season for outdoor concerts on Saturday September 11, 2021, on the Courthouse Lawn behind the Memorial Building. Our featured band is The Kind Thieves, a local favorite who will take the stage at 7:00 pm. Opening act is Whyte Noise which kicks things off at 5:30 p.m.

Food vendors present all evening will be Mom and Pops and Sugar Attack Cookie Company. We also invite any arts/crafts or plants/veggies vendors to set up for free to sell their items on the courthouse lawn for an outdoor market that evening.

We greatly appreciate all those who have helped and supported 2nd Saturdays. It was a great season with a very successful Mecot Camara Memorial Motorcycle Ride sponsored by the CVMA (Combat Veterans Military Association) and 2nd Saturdays. Special thanks to the CVMA and to the American Brother Foundation for all their work in making this happen in May. Also, a big thank you to Mike Gore and Gore’s Autobody and the City of Hinton for sponsoring the CVMA Ride t shirts.

Our Color the River Float in June was another great success with over 800 floaters jumping in the Greenbrier River from all over the area. The weather was great and it was so exciting and fun to see so many travel here to our county to enjoy our beautiful river.

July and August were also successful events. Local favorite JonBen Slate gave an outstanding concert in July, even in the rain, and Creek Don’t Rise, another favorite of ours did not disappoint in August.

Without our sponsors this would not be possible. We are extremely grateful to our local businesses who make this event happen. Our Mainstage Sponsors are Practice Link, Beckley Auto Mall, Summers ARH Hospital, Pivont Funeral Home, Ronald Meadows Funeral Home, State Farm Insurance, Nationwide Insurance, City National Bank, Summit Bank, First Community Bank, Big Four Drugstore, Jarrell’s Exxon, Richmond’s Meadow Creek Hideaway, R.T. Rogers Oil Company, Triangle One Stop, Twin State Beauty Supply, and Kenna Fox DDS.

Special thanks to the Hinton Hot Rod Association that sponsors our antique car show each 2nd Saturday evening bringing some real beauties in for us to admire.

We would also like to thank the City and County Government who supported these events this summer.

Last but not least, thank you to the 2nd Saturday’s Committee: Jack Scott, Chad Meador, Megan Meador, Amy Berry-Richmond, Paula Rhodes, Kim Jordan, Carolyn and David Johnson, Keith Mills, Melinda Gore and Kristi Scott.

Please come out Saturday September 11th and enjoy our end of summer concert. Bring a chair and a friend, and a tent or umbrella if it looks like rain. This is a rain or shine event.

We hope you have enjoyed 2nd Saturdays this year and we are looking forward to 2022!
