River’s Edge Inn, formerly Newbrier Lodge Motel, was recently acquired by a local family. Terry and Vicky McIntyre, along with their children Jason and Liza Torres, purchased the motel, located on the Greenbrier River in December of 2020. The family as a team are in the process of a total renovation, starting with the rooms and continuing with the ongoing process throughout the year. The McIntyre’s previously owned Hinton New and Used Furniture and Vicky’s Boutique. They currently own and operate Rivers Edge RV Park on the Greenbrier River and Three Rivers Studios on Third Avenue in Hinton.
River’s Edge Inn has a lot to offer visitors and tourists, providing one and two bedroom accommodations. Each room comes equipped with a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee pot,TV and internet access to ensure your stay is convenient and fun. Registered guests can fish, kayak or just relax on the deck.
The River’s Edge RV Park offers 30 and 50 amp electric, city water and septic. The RV park has seven back-in sites, four of which overlook the river. You can enjoy the large deck and gazebo while relaxing and watching the river flow.
I asked Mrs. McIntyre to explain how she feels places like River’s Edge Inn and RV Park positively impact Summers County. McIntyre said, “If we provide accommodations for tourists, we will get more visitors to Summers County and, in turn, we will help grow the economy of Summers County.”
