TINCHER
Gladys Edith Tincher, 83, of Clayton died at 9:30 a.m. Monday, June 28, 2021 at Summers County A.R.H. Hospital following a long illness.
Born May 20, 1938 at Elverton, WV, she was the daughter of the late Alonzo and Josie Leffler Blevins.
Mrs. Tincher was a graduate of Talcott High School and was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, canning, listening to music, and especially loved being with her church family. She was a member of Pence Springs Community Church and had lived most of her life in Summers County.
She was preceded in death by 7 siblings, Paris Blevins, Harlow Napoleon Blevins, Delta Rose Blevins, George Boone Blevins, Bradley Mason Blevins, Arkie McKinley Blevins, and Mary Lorraine Johnson.
Survivors include her loving husband of 59 years, Lloyd B. Tincher; two sons, Lloyd Carey Tincher of Lindside and Jerry Tincher and wife, Beverly of Alderson, WV; one sister, Claudia Blevins Smith of Clayton; eight grandchildren, Michael Ray Tincher, Natasha Nicole Tincher, Hazel Raine Tincher, Rosie Tincher, Benjamin “Bo Bo” Tincher, Nikki Whisman, Brandon Flack, and Matthew Flack; eight great-grandchildren; special daughter of the heart, Karen Allgood of Clayton; and special niece, Vicky Kesler of Clayton; along with several other nieces and nephews surviving.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday July 2, 2021 at Pence Springs Community Church with Pastor Roger Persinger officiating. Burial followed in Clayton Baptist Church Cemetery at Clayton. Friends could call from 1 p.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Friends and church friends served as pallbearers.
