After losing to PikeView by a ten-run-rule 7-17 on April 27, Summers County overcame and defeated them 11-4 on Thursday, May 13.
In the top of the first inning, the Bobcats got their defense started quickly with Maverick Harper on the mound. In the bottom, Logan Fox and Levi Jones both singled, which brought home Summers County’s first and second batters Ben Lane and Brandan Isaac who had walked.
Summers County would not score again until the fifth inning when most of the work would happen. Ben Lane hit a ground ball and reached first on an error. Brandan Isaac walked. Ben Lane scored tying the game 4-4. Logan Fox singled on a ground ball. Levi Jones hit a hard ground ball and reached first on an error while Logan Fox scored. Daniel Mansfield doubled on a ground ball allowing Levi Jones to score. Sam Whittaker singled by a bunt allowing Daniel Mansfield to score. Will Taylor walked. Gracin Price bunted, reaching first and allowing Sam Whittaker to score. Will Taylor scored during a ground-out play by PikeView.
Levi Jones also pitched three innings with no earned runs and Logan Fox closed out the seventh inning with two strikeouts. The Bobcats had eight hits during the game. Logan Fox and Brandan Isaac both had multiple. Levi Jones, Daniel Mansfield, and Sam Whittaker had a hit each as well. The team had a total of ten stolen bases; three by Ben Lane, two each from Levi Jones and Sam Whittaker, and one each from Brandan Isaac and Will Taylor.
