Summers County Commission Agenda

The Summers County Commission will meet on Wednesday, May 12 at 9:00 a.m.

Please note:

The Summers County Commission has determined, based upon guidance issued by the federal government, the state of West Virginia and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that a public meeting that allows citizens to attend in person constitutes a public health risk at this time. AGENDA:

9:00 a.m.: Call to Order

  • Approval of agenda
  • Tax refunds/exonerations/consolidations – Gregory S. Vandal, Assessor
  • Fiduciary appointments/estate settlement/petitions – Donald R. Basham, Jr., Fiduciary Supervisor
  • Approval of minutes – Mary Beth Merritt, County Clerk
  • Review of correspondence
  • Revision of budget
  • Approval of personnel
  • Approval of invoices

9:15 a.m.: Marie Bryant Propps, Director of Community Corrections; discussion of the purchase of a home confinement vehicle

9:30 a.m.: Lesley Woodrum, WVU Extension Agent seeking permission to use the Memorial Building in June for 4-H

10:00 a.m.: David Ziegler; seeking county endorsement of a proposal for a master plan on Bluestone Lake for Army Corps of Engineers

10:30 a.m.: Steve Lipscomb, OEM/911 Director with radio communication updates, NCIC updates and equipment purchase proposals

11:00 a.m.: Sheriff Justin Farris, consideration to approve the employment of a School Resource Officer in collaboration with the School board

NEW BUSINESS:

  • Consideration and discussion of barking dog ordinance
  • Consideration of the tax exemption request from Good Works Limited a 501c corporation
  • Consideration to approve the Meadow Creek Sewer ARC Grant Amendment No. 5
  • Consideration to appoint member to the Southern WV Regional Non-Motorized Trail Authority representing Summers County
  • Consideration to appoint member to the Parks and Recreation Commission
  • Consideration to support John Henry Historical Park Walking Bridge Project
  • Consideration to appoint member to the Summers County Fire Board
  • Consideration to allow Monroe County Court to use the Summers County Courtroom for Monroe County proceedings
  • Consideration to reschedule the June 9, 2021 County Commission regular session
  • Consideration and discussion of sale of county property declared surplus
  • Public comment and/or any other business that may come before the commission
