Summers County Sheriff, Justin Faris announced via the department’s Facebook page on March 16 that he has established an anonymous tip line for community members to report crimes in the county.
This tip line is available to anyone who has information on any criminal activity taking place anywhere in Summers County. It is not necessary for the caller to provide their identity when providing information to this tip line. The number is 304-466-7154.
The tip line will serve as a way to inform the sheriff directly of any criminal activity. In the event of an emergency, it remains important to call 911.
According to the announcement, Sheriff Faris is “looking forward to having the public’s assistance in making Summers County safer.”
The addition of this anonymous line is one of the steps Faris has taken since taking office in an effort to make the county a safer place. Since the beginning of the year, the Summers County Sheriff’s Department has added new ballistic vests to their wardrobe, they made a major drug bust in the county, they got a new chief deputy and they are hosting a series of concealed carry permit classes.
More information is available on the Summers County Sheriff’s Department Facebook page.
