A Hinton man was arrested on the evening of Saturday, March 13 after an alleged domestic altercation. Robert Dean Thomas, 24, of Hinton has been charged with one-county of domestic battery and brandishing a weapon.
Shortly before 7:00 p.m. on the date in question, officers responded to reports of a domestic disturbance at a residence in Hinton. Upon arriving on the scene, the victim advised officers that her son, Robert Dean Thomas, had become violent, and struck a guest who was visiting the home, before then attacking her.
According to the criminal complaint, Thomas allegedly “had an issue” with the guest, and reportedly struck him in the face. The guest then reportedly left the residence, at which point Thomas allegedly assaulted the victim with a crowbar.
The victim advised officers that Thomas allegedly “shoved her down on the floor with the crow bar and choked her by the neck.”
Officers located Thomas walking along a bridge in the Hinton area, and placed him under arrest without further incident.
Robert Dean Thomas is currently being held at Southern Regional Jail on a $2,500 cash-only bail.
