A Summer’s County man was arrested on the afternoon of Friday, February 27 after a month-long investigation into reports of alleged sexual misconduct. Jonathan Joseph Pakacki, 26, of Hinton has been charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, distribution and exhibition of offensive material and third-degree sexual assault.
On Tuesday, February 2, the West Virginia State Police received an investigation-referral from Child Protective Services (CPS) regarding a female minor. While being interviewed, the minor reportedly advised troopers that she had previously been sexually active with multiple men over the age of 20-year-old. The minor further named Jonathan Joseph Pakacki as one of the men with whom she had been sexually active on at least five-occasions.
According to the criminal complaint, during their investigation, troopers received statements from witnesses claiming that Pakacki had been observed in the minor’s home on several occasions, including one instance where Pakacki was reportedly in bed with the minor. Other witnesses advised troopers that Pakacki was, in fact, engaged in a sexual relationship with the minor. Pakacki also allegedly showed nude photographs of the underage female, taken with his cellphone, to other adult males.
On Monday, February 8, troopers questioned Pakacki, at which time he reportedly stated that he was “just friends” with the minor, and allegedly admitted to smoking marijuana with her. However, Pakacki denied having a “sexual or romantic” relationship with the minor.
Pakacki had previously been investigated in May of 2019 for the use of obscene material to seduce a child.
The case remains ongoing, as troopers are presently investigating additional persons of interest.
Jonathan Joseph Pakacki is currently being held at Southern Regional Jail on a $51,000 cash-bond or surety.
