Pain and stiffness can make moving around and staying active difficult with those who suffer from arthritis or other impediments to mobility.
Walk With Ease is a free class online from Active Southern West Virginia specifically for people struggling with the discomfort and the physical insecurity many people face getting around on their own two feet.
Registration is now open for a free six-week online exercise class with a Walk With Ease program from the Arthritis Foundation. The classes focus on goal setting, journaling and increasing walking times over the 6-week period. Active Southern West Virginia says the Walk With Ease classes are proven to:
• Reduce the pain and discomfort of arthritis
• Increase balance, strength, and walking pace
• Build confidence in your ability to be physically active
• Improve overall health.
Active SWV Community Captain Brigit Arnold shares, “What inspired me to want to lead the Walk With Ease class is to be able to help those with barriers and help to reduce pain associated with arthritis or other related conditions that cause stiffness in the joints. I hope participants will gain from the lessons the confidence to become more physically active in their everyday life.”
