It was yet another difficult day in West Virginia on Sunday, as the death-toll from the coronavirus continued to rise. On Monday, September 14, the West Virginia DHHR reported that 9 more residents have succumbed to the virus, which has now claimed the lives of 275 across the state.
“As we honor the lives of these West Virginians, we must continue to do our part to slow the growth of this virus by being thoughtful, responsible and safe,” Cabinet Secretary Bill Crouch said, in a statement posted on the DHHR website. “Our thoughts go out to all who are grieving during this time.”
Currently, 4,278 COVID-19 tests were performed state-wide on Sunday, and 121 new cases have been confirmed within the last 24-hours. West Virginia currently has 3,184 active cases. The cumulative positivity-rate experienced another incremental rise, and is now at 2.63%. But at 2.69%, the daily positivity-rate reached a 7-day low.
