MEADOW BRIDGE- A large-scale community cleanup effort recently made a significant impact along Lawn Road, where volunteers and local agencies worked together to remove a substantial amount of litter and debris from the area.
Thanks to the efforts of Charles Saunders, the Summers County Day Report Program, the Summers County Sheriff’s Department, and the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources (DNR), a total of 51 bags of trash were collected during the cleanup. Summers County Sheriff Justin Faris also assisted by hauling the collected trash away.
Organizers noted that the amount of litter gathered highlights the ongoing challenge of illegal dumping and roadside trash, issues that are entirely preventable. While the cleanup was successful, participants emphasized the importance of personal responsibility and community pride in keeping local roadways clean.
The collaborative effort serves as a reminder of what can be accomplished when community members and public agencies work together to improve and protect the area.
