Hinton Prepares for Spine-Tingling Haunt Fest on September 13

HINTON, W.Va. (Hinton News) – Get ready for a chilling experience as Hinton, West Virginia, hosts Haunt Fest on September 13, 2025. This year’s event promises a day filled with ghost stories, paranormal investigations, and a self-guided Creepy Crawl, all set against the historic backdrop of Hinton.

The festivities kick off with ticket sales, workshops, and speaker sessions located throughout the city. Attendees can delve into the unknown at three primary venues: the Memorial Building, the Hinton Train Museum, and the CFM House Museum.

The Memorial Building (451 1st Ave) will feature a lineup of intriguing presentations:

12:30-1:15 p.m.: Theresa’s Haunted History

1:45-2:30 p.m.: Rebekah the Ghost Guide

3-3:45 p.m.: Paranormal Teej & Her Haunted Dolls

4:15-5 p.m.: Morgan Lambert

5:30-6:15 p.m.: Tharyn Beyond the Veil

Over at the Hinton Train Museum (206 Temple St), the focus will be on paranormal exploration and ethics:

12:45-1:15 p.m.: Parapsych Paranormal – Paranormal 101

2:45-2:15 p.m.: Dottie the Psychic – Paranormal Ethics

2:45-3:15 p.m.: Theresa’s Haunted History – Research & Prep

3:45-4:15 p.m.: Mark Covey of Mountain State Mysteries

4:45-5:15 p.m.: Amber’s Paraworld – All Things Paranormal

For those interested in hands-on investigation and unique perspectives, the CFM House Museum (422 Summers St) offers:

1-1:30 p.m.: AGT – Investigation for Beginners

2-2:30 p.m.: AGT – Tech Talk with Carl

3-3:30 p.m.: Parapsych Paranormal – Paranormal Encounters with Healthcare

4-4:30 p.m.: Danny Buckner – Searching for Bigfoot

5-5:30 p.m.: AGT – Tarot Reading for Beginners with Dandy

A highlight of the Haunt Fest is the Creepy Crawl, a self-guided ghost tour beginning at the City Park (3rd & Temple) at 7 p.m. with Appalachian Ghost Tours providing an overview, ground rules, and a Q&A session. The Creepy Crawl will run until 12 AM, allowing participants to explore various haunted locations at their own pace. Featured Creepy Crawl locations include Summers County Public Library, Poe Haus, REACHH House, CFM House Museum, and Historic Wilson Warehouse. Tickets for the Creepy Crawl can be purchased or picked up at designated spots on the map.

Beyond the scheduled events, attendees can also enjoy music, acrobats, and stilt walkers, explore various vendors, and find convenient restrooms and parking throughout the event area, particularly along Summers St., 3rd Ave, and 4th Ave.

Hinton Haunt Fest is sponsored by Appalachian Ghost Tours, CFM House Museum, and the City of Hinton, encouraging everyone to “Explore Summers County.” This promises to be an unforgettable event for paranormal enthusiasts and those looking for a unique, spooky experience.
