PIPESTEM W.Va. (Hinton News) – With sunny skies and warm weather rolling into Southern West Virginia, it’s the perfect time to head outdoors and experience the thrill of summer at Pipestem Peaks Zipline Tour and the Pipestem Adventure Lake—two of the region’s premier outdoor attractions.

Zip Through the Treetops Over the Stunning Bluestone Gorge

Adventure-seekers aged 10 and up can take flight on the Pipestem Peaks Zipline Tour, a 3.5-hour, adrenaline-pumping canopy experience featuring nine ziplines that cross the awe-inspiring Bluestone Gorge three times, soaring over 300 feet above the ground. With breathtaking panoramic views and cool mountain air rushing by, guests will be guided by professionally trained staff who ensure the highest safety standards while sharing fascinating stories and facts about the local flora and fauna.

Each tour accommodates up to eight guests, accompanied by two expert guides, offering a safe, scenic, and unforgettable aerial adventure through the treetops. Participants must weigh between 100 and 250 pounds.

Make a Splash at the Adventure Lake

After zipping through the forest, cool off at Adventure Lake and Splash Park, a family favorite and the perfect place to spend a hot summer day. The lake features giant inflatable slides, mountains, trampolines, and more for all ages to enjoy. Kids can splash and play while parents relax in a lounge chair on the sandy beach. It’s also a popular venue for birthday parties and private gatherings, making it a go-to spot for summer celebrations.

Other activities available at Pipestem include skeet shooting, mini golf, family float trips on the New River, and horseback riding.

Plan Your Visit

Reservations are required for Pipestem Peaks Zipline Tours and can be made by calling 1-833-WV-PARKS (1-833-987-2757), visiting wvstateparks.com, or going directly to wvstateparks.com/things-to-do/aerial-tours/pipestem-peaks/.
