SUMMERS COUNTY W.Va. (Hinton News) – Thanks to the help of so many people, volunteers will again be delivering free hot, Thanksgiving dinners on Thanksgiving Day. They are again asking for help to deliver them in Summers County. The dinners will arrive and be ready to distribute about 12:15 to 12:30 on Thanksgiving Day. They can be picked up at the basement of the First Presbyterian Church at the corner of Third and Ballengee in Hinton.
Thanksgiving is a time of thanks and organizers give thanks for the generosity and dedication of so many people who make this project possible so that all might celebrate.
The hot meals are contributed by the Oak Hill Community Center. The cold bags are by local churches. They need people to help put the bags together on Thanksgiving eve. And everyone comes out to deliver. Thank you all.
They could still use some cookies, bars or fruit for desserts and people to help fill bags on Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church. If you are bringing dessert items, please have them packaged in individual bags. If you want to contribute or have questions, contact Sister Nancy Martin, 304-860-9446. Happy Thanksgiving!
