HINTON W.Va. (Hinton News) – Hinton and Southern West Virginia are set to welcome thrill-seekers and adventure enthusiasts from across the nation for the highly anticipated event, “24 Hours of Appalachia: Miners and Loggers Delight,” taking place on July 26-28.

This exhilarating 24-hour endurance rally is expected to draw a sizable crowd of competitors and spectators, traveling from all corners of the United States. The influx of visitors is anticipated to significantly boost the local economy, providing a surge in business for local hotels, restaurants, and shops. This event highlights the rich cultural heritage and recreational opportunities the Appalachian region offers, setting the stage for a vibrant and memorable experience.

In addition to the economic benefits, the event holds a powerful charitable mission at its core. Proceeds from the event will be donated to two commendable nonprofit organizations dedicated to supporting families experiencing child loss. These organizations, NOAH Foundation and Harmony’s Breath offer crucial resources, emotional support, and financial assistance to grieving families, helping them navigate the difficult and often overwhelming journey of loss.

“This event is more than just a rally; it’s a testament to the resilience and spirit of the Appalachian community,” said Jedediah Smith, the event organizer. “We’re thrilled to welcome participants and spectators from near and far, and we’re equally proud to support such meaningful causes. The collective efforts of our community and visitors alike will not only fuel economic growth but also bring solace and support to families in their most challenging times.”

Participants in the “24 Hours of Appalachia: Miners and Loggers Delight” will navigate a course designed to test their limits, incorporating rugged trails, steep inclines, and breathtaking vistas that showcase the natural beauty of the Appalachian landscape. The event will also feature live music, local food vendors and family-friendly activities, thanks to the City of Hinton, ensuring an enjoyable experience for all ages.
