ATHENS, W.Va. (Hinton News) – The Concord University Theatre Department is pleased to present Concord does Broadway: A Spring Cabaret, on April 11, 12 and 13 at 7 p.m., and April 14 at 2 p.m. in the H.C. Paul Theatre of the Alexander Fine Arts Center. General admission tickets are $7. Tickets for Cabaret Table Seating are $25, which includes two complimentary drinks. The program will include numbers from musicals such as Oklahoma, Chicago, Book of Mormon, The Rocky Horror Show, Spring Awakening, Company, Hair Spray, Little Women, and Footloose, all performed by members of the Concord community, and directed by Logan Reagan.
Reagan received his BA in Drama from The University of Arkansas and an MFA from Southern Illinois University with an emphasis in Scenic Design and Technical Direction. He has served as Technical Director and Scenic Designer for Market House Theatre, Properties Master for Des Moines Metro Opera, and Scenic Designer and Charge Artist for McLeod Summer Playhouse.
The music director for the show is Mark Dietrich, assistant professor of computer science at Concord. With thirteen years of experience in vocal directing, music directing, and conducting in San Francisco, Dietrich is leading the cast with seasoned expertise. Some of his favorite large-scale shows to help direct have been “Grease”, “Into the Woods”, and “Newsies.”
Concord’s Instructor of Music, Jordan Stadvec is the vocal director and choreographer for this performance. Stadvec earned both her Master’s Degree and Artist Diploma from the University of Cincinnati: College-Conservatory of Music. She has participated in many Young Artist Programs, competitions, and concerts and played a great variety of roles in productions.
Cast members include Sarah Angell, Desi Blankenship, Riley Bowyer, Loren Burner, Jade Cox, Lisa Darlington, Roman Harvey, Emily Hall, Lexi Hall, Jade Hudgins, Colette Lindley, Jaylen Montgomery, Julie Prince, Gabriel Rieger, Irene Rieger, Morgan Roadman, Chelsey Rowe, Ayanna Sawyer, Adrian Spaulding, Isaac Shafer, and Jordan Simpson. Stage Manager is Zoey Shamblin and Assistant Stage Manager is Rylee Harshbarger.
