FAIRLEA W.Va. (Hinton News) – The WVU Master Gardeners of the Greenbrier Valley are pleased to announce the arrival of the 2024 WVU Extension Service Calendar!!! Either as a gift for someone special during the holiday season or for yourself, this calendar is a valuable tool for managing and organizing your garden schedule.
Developed by the WVU Agricultural Extension Service, this year’s theme is “Back to Our Roots”! This theme was chosen to acknowledge the rich gardening tradition that is deeply rooted in our Appalachian culture. To celebrate, this year’s Calendar features a look at some of the traditional, staple crops that hail from Appalachia, as well as some of the lesser-known “wild” vegetables that can be added to our garden bounty.
A new year always brings a new sense of purpose and enjoyment to one’s gardening efforts. Stop by the local WVU Extension Office to pick up your 2024 Calendar. The calendars are located on the porch so help yourself! Happy Gardening!
