THOMAS
Eddie Dean Thomas, 74, of Hilldale, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, April 23, 2023, at Stonerise Nursing Facility following a long illness.
Born December 12, 1948, at Talcott, he was a son of the late William and Ellene Bragg Thomas.
Eddie was a United States Army Vietnam Veteran. He was a retired truck driver for the Street Department, City of Hinton, with 38 years of service. Eddie enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting fish bait, and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Buddy, Sammy, Bobby Jack, Jitterbug, Jim, Roger, Helen, and Betty Thomas, Mary Landis, and two sisters he was very close to, Shirley Bowling and Catherine Adkins.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 49 years, Sarah Persinger Thomas; two sons, Chris Thomas of Hilldale and Eric Thomas and wife, Mellissa, of Hinton; four grandchildren, Robbie, Austin, Jammie, and Jessica; special niece, Elizabeth Phillips; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2023, at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in the Esquire Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of services on Thursday at the funeral parlors. Co-workers and friends will serve as pallbearers.
