Lakisha Janine Bond

Lakisha Janine Bond

The beautiful soul of Lakisha Janine Bond, age 47, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 13, 2025.

Born on August 29, 1978, she was the daughter of Sheila Marie Bond of Lincoln, NE, and Robert “Bobby” Maurice Gore, Jr. of Hinton, WV.

Lakisha was a mother, grandmother, daughter, niece, sister, cousin, friend, and forever our little bunny rabbit!  She loved her family and friends spiritedly, intensely, and unremittingly more than anything.  She adored her late grandmother, Shirley Bond, for whom she had requested her remains be eternally attached too.  Last, she loved her MUSIC!

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Bethel J. Bond and Shirley M. Bond; paternal grandparents, Robert Maurice Gore, Sr. and Jewel M. Gore; uncles, Donald Gore and Michael Lee Gore; aunt, Michelle Missy Gore; half-sister, Brittany Gore.  Although these beloved family members have moved on, for this moment, through Lakisha, they are here with us now! God bless us all.

Those left to cherish her memory include her two sons, Raheem B. Bond and Kishaun A. Jones, both of Beckley, WV; two grandchildren, Kehlani A. Jones and Legend A. Bond; half-brother, Brandon Gore of Chicago, IL and half-sisters, Amy Gill of Sandstone, WV and Savannah Bond of North Dinwidde, VA; aunts, Anita Buchanan (John), Christal Henry, Martha Ann Bond, Phyllis Hannah, Janima Bond, Cherly Newkirk (Floyd), Angela Bond, Karen Gore; uncles, Anthony “Tony” Gore, Phillip A. Bond, and Keith Bond and wife Ashley.  There are numerous cousins that also survive and whom she loved dearly, especially Laconda Gore and Shane Colin.  She had a slew of lifelong friends, but her forever friends are Michelle Gross, Autumn Ford and Tomarra Harshaw. If anyone has been left out, my sincere apologies to all!

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Rev. Matthew Saunders officiating. Friends may visit from 12:00 p.m. until the time of services on Saturday at the Funeral Home.  Interment will be in the Esquire Cemetery at a later date.

Online condolences at www.pivontfuneralhome.com.

Arrangements by Pivont Funeral Home, Hinton, WV.
