HINTON, (Hinton News) – According to a statement from the Summers County Sheriff’s Office, police responded to a bomb threat at Summers County Comprehensive High School this afternoon. At the time of the statement, no imminent threat had been found.

Due to the situation and out of an abundance of caution, classes have been dismissed. The building was evacuated per school procedure. Parent pick-up students may be picked up at Lifeline Church in Hinton per SCCHS. Parents are asked not to cross the railroad tracks at the school.

This is an ongoing situation and Hinton News will continue to update as more information becomes available.
