The City of Hinton released an update regarding the 17th Ave. culvert collapse on its Facebook page on Monday, Nov. 7. According to the update, City officials have spoken with Department of Highways (DOH) representatives.
Reportedly, DOH noted that officials consulted with a contractor who specializes in “boring and jacking” large pipes. Due to the complicated nature of the project, DOH decided to put the project out for bid. The update states that the chosen contractor will drill a new pipe beside the old structure, which will be filled to stabilize the area.
Hinton News will provide more information as it becomes available.
