ATHENS, W.Va. (Hinton News) – Concord University eagerly welcomed alumni and friends back to campus for the 2022 Homecoming football game and festivities. Even with Ian sending rain and wind in for the weekend, Mountain Lions from near and far made their way back to “The Campus Beautiful.”
Concord alumni gathered at Pipestem Resort State Park for the annual golf tournament. Austin Southcott, Ian Southcott, Chad Frazier, and Dr. Brad Lane are the 2022 winners. Team Brad Whitehead came in second place. CU After Hours on Friday night at the President’s house welcomed alumni and their families with free food and drinks to the acoustic sounds of Noah Spencer. The newest lifetime members of the Concord University Alumni Association were also pinned.

Across campus at University Point, Keg and Eggs invited tailgaters to eat a made-to-order omelet and sample a special beer brewed by The Sophisticated Hound in Princeton, West Virginia for homecoming: “The Campus Brewtiful.” The class of 1972 celebrated their 50-year reunion this year. The group gathered in the Alumni Lounge at University Point prior to the game to reconnect.
Campus organizations took the field at half-time of Concord’s game against Fairmont State, ready to see if their week of campaigning for votes paid off: Alpha Sigma Alpha’s Kalei Adkins, a business administration major from Welch, West Virginia, partnered with International Club’s Robin Abreu, a business administration major from Santiago, Dominican Republic; Delta Zeta’s Summer Harmon, a computer science major from Delbarton, West Virginia, ran with CU Gamer’s Lounge representative Jade Hudgins, a computer science and studio art major from Princeton, West Virginia; Alpha Psi Omega’s Joey Mitchem, a secondary education major from Mt.
