The family of Roscoe Sameuel and Annie Mae Honaker O’Bryan met on June 25, 2022, at the home place of Roscoe and Annie O’Bryan at Hix, W.Va. The reunion was hosted by Linda O’Bryan.

Roscoe and five of his brothers came to Summers County, West Virginia, from Floyd County, Virginia, around the turn of the 20th Century seeking work. They bought land and soon were in the timber and lumber business. Roscoe and Annie had nine children and gave them all names starting with “M.”

Five of those children were represented at the reunion by family members, including children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. In addition, Howard Bennett, brother of Roscoe, was represented by his great-granddaughter Sandy Richmond and great-great-granddaughter Brenlyn. The oldest attendee was Paul Peyten from Medina, Ohio. He is the son-in-law of Mildred O’Bryan Martin.

The attendee traveling from the farthest away was Freda Bowles Wallbawn, Parkersburg, Iowa. She is the daughter of Marjorie O’Bryan Bowles.

The youngest attendee was Gloria Quintero, Belmost, North Carolina. She is the great-great-granddaughter of Mildred O’Bryan Martin.

Others attending were:
Jay and Lila Meadows, Eloise Furrow, and Deborah Burdette of Hinton, W.Va.; Larry and Monnie Martin, Phillip and Tony Reese, Remington Reese of Peterstown, W.Va.; Scott Lari and Julie Graham of Standsville, VA; Bobby and Jeannie Martin, Terri and Rick Fox and Cameron of Salem, VA; Brian and Tammy Adkins, Carlos Adkins, Sandy and Brenlyn Richmond of Hix, W.V.; Paul, Gloria, Doug, Lisa and Micheal Peyton of Medina, OH; Mark and Margie LeMaster of Weirton, W.Va..; Sherri Cook Eddie Bowles, Randy and Michelle Bowles of Jumping Branch, W.Va..; Terri Jones of Lewisburg, W.Va.; Gary and Kathy Browning of Nimitz, W.Va.; Joe and Freda Wallbawn, IA; Claire and Gloria Quintero of Belmont, N.C.; Linda O’Bryan of Hix, W.Va.
