Recently, Summers County police officers received information regarding a motorcycle in the Pence Springs area that had allegedly been stolen from Mercer County. Following an investigation, officers arrested Jonathan Walter Crook, 49, of Talcott.

According to the criminal complaint, officers arrived at the reported location and observed a motorcycle that matched the description of the stolen one. The complaint further states that the victim was able to identify the red Harley Davidson motorcycle.

After identifying the vehicle, officers spoke with the resident, Jonathan Crook, who allegedly said he had gotten the item from another individual. Reportedly, officers asked Crook if he was in possession of any other stolen items, narcotics or firearms. The criminal complaint states that Crook responded by saying he did have narcotics and proceeded to give the officer permission to search the residence.

During the search, officers located “a large amount” of a crystal rock substance believed to be Methamphetamine and a powder substance believed to be heroin. Additionally, digital scales, small baggies and a shotgun. According to the criminal complaint, Crook advised the officers of multiple prior convictions that prohibit him from possessing a firearm.

At the time of writing, Crook is residing in Southern Regional Jail awaiting arraignment. Crook’s bond has not yet been set.
